Subject: IGOR - Announcing the 2010 Award Winners

 Dear Artist Members,

We are proud to announce the Award Winners of the International Guild of Realism’s Fifth Annual Juried Exhibition at the J. Willott Gallery, in Palm Desert, California.

As customary during our annual juried exhibitions, we ask the gallery to award ribbons in different categories to selected Guild Members for their outstanding artwork.  These awards are symbolic marks of distinction, and as such do not involve any monetary or material prizes—except for the Editor’s Choice award.  The painting and artist who receive this year’s Editor’s Choice will be featured in an upcoming issue of the American Art Collector magazine.  All award winners will receive their ribbons and an IGOR certificate by mail.

The International Guild of Realism congratulates all of the Award Winning Artists!

Camille Engel - Best Wildlife for “Trespasser”

Carolina Daley - Best Still Life for “Setting Sun”

David M. Bowers - Tromp l’Oeil Award for “Tool Man”

Ed Copley  - Pioneer Award for “Secrets”

Ed Copley - Best Figure for “Secrets”

Larry Charles - Creative Achievement for “116 Degrees Longitude”

Lyn Diefenbach - Best Floral for “Extravaganza”

Ning Lee - Best in Show for “Egg Shells”

R. Geoffrey Blackburn - Best Landscape for Desert Rules”

Randy Ford – Director’s Choice for “Heartland”

Glenn Harrington – American Art Collector Magazine, Editor’s Choice for “Catnap”

The additional benefit of presenting awards is that we have an added tool for a new round of publicity.  IGOR will send out press kits with a new PR text accompanied by the award-winning images to a host of art publications.  This may result in after-show publicity highlights for the gallery, the artists, and the Guild.

Judge

 David Dorman, Fine Artist

The owners of the J. Willott Gallery invited David Dorman as the overall juror of this year’s IGOR awards.  David Dorman is a prominent Utah artist who was a tenured professor at the University of Utah for 17 years.  He is admired for his work and respected for his knowledge and understanding of art.

Judges for specific award categories

The Director’s Choice was selected by Josh Otten and Josh Paquette, owners and Gallery Directors of the J. Willott Gallery.

The Artist’s Choice was selected by David Dorman (see above).

The Editor’s Choice was selected by Joshua Rose, Editor of the American Art Collector Magazine.
