Artists' note:
Each of the two versions shown above is
available and looks from my view, pretty amazing in its own right.
This is the first time I have offered such a
choice-it's an experiment. What is unique about the work is
that it was created from 2 original oil paintings:
Castle Tower 2.0 and
Round Mountain 2.0 that were
NOT in fact connected. Indeed there was some 300-400 ft.
difference in elevation for each original image. To create this as
if it were one continuous seamless piece as viewed from a single elevation
was very tricky. So, this image, although not an oil
painting, is none-the-less, an original piece of art.
Since the original oil paintings are fairly
large (24 x 32 in. each), the panoramic images above can be printed
much larger than the 30 x 80" mentioned below and and lose nothing
as to detail, clarity or impact (e.g. 56 x 150 in.) It would
be like being there! The larger the image, the more of my technique
is revealed.
This scene is of Castle Valley east of Moab,
Utah. Western art is my passion and I particularly love the red rock
desert around Moab. I got to see this scene every day for several
summers/autumns while I was perched atop our drill rig on our mining
claims on the south rim of Castle Valley (Wilson Mesa). Mind
blowing!!
